The FuelCell SuperComp Elite, a carbon plate racing shoe for runners aiming to win races and set records, has been updated to v4.
The top model, the FuelCell SuperComp Elite v4, was finally completed with a focus on further energy return based on feedback from top athletes at the New Balance Sports Research Lab at the Boston headquarters. Compared to the previous model, it is equipped with a new FuelCell compound that provides quicker rebound and a carbon fiber plate, providing even more forward propulsion.
MIDSOLE
Compared to the previous model, PEBA is used for the compound.
The new FuelCell compound provides improved rebound resilience and energy return, dramatically increasing forward propulsion.
Combined with a sole shape that is designed to give a greater sense of speed, this is a shoe that is easy to pick up speed in and is ideal for high-speed races.
Energy Arc + Carbon Fiber Plate
It features the Energy Arc, which sandwiches a curved carbon fiber plate and combines with the hollow structure of the midsole to maximize energy return.
To increase forward propulsion and push-off force, a new carbon fiber plate with improved fibers and weaving structure provides more elasticity when running.
UPPER
We use FANTOMFIT, which combines two types of materials to achieve the ultimate in lightweight performance while providing a secure fit.
The foot and shoe become one, the speed laces prevent the shoe from moving around inside, and the engineered mesh upper provides optimal elasticity where you need it.
OUTSOLE
The vertical rubber arrangement and non-slip design are based on the concept of Data to Design.
It grips the ground firmly when pushing off, helping to release energy further forward.

あくまでレース用として使うので履く機会は少ないけど、5km程試走した感想は、分厚いのにかなり走りやすいです。どのメーカーも最近のシューズの進化には驚かされますね。

健康維持程度にランニングマシーン中心にジム通いしております。
ホカの初代クリプトンに衝撃を受け、足に優しい厚底系を色々と履いておりました。フルマラソンの経験などは無く、レース系モデルはずっと避けておりました。
直近では、NBのフレッシュフォームモアV4を気に入って履いておりましたが、もう少し跳ね返りがあるモデルはないかとキャンペーンもあり試しにこのモデルを履いてみました。
キロ5分前後でいつも走ってるので、オーバースペックなら返品させて頂ければなんて思ったのですが…
モアV4よりもぐんぐん進むし、楽に走れるじゃないですか!
ドロップがどうとか性能的なことはわかりませんが、初老の貧脚でも履けることがわかりました。
多少コストはかかっても楽に走れるなら良いですという方は試してみてください。
ただ、アウトソールのグリップが結構良いので、アスファルトだとすり減りが早いかもしれません。そうであってもレース系なので仕方ないと思います。
また、カラーが1色しかないので知ってる方から見ると、脚力と合ってないなぁなんて思われるかもしれませんが…(笑)

この辺は好みかな
フルマラソンの後半を考えたらこの方が良いのかも
斬新すぎない白ベースのデザインがホントに好みドンピシャでレースが待ち遠しいです
