Nozimi Tanaka

Nozomi Tanaka

Born September 4, 1999. From Hyogo Prefecture. Won the gold medal at the Asian Junior Championships with a record in the 3000m. Won the gold medal at the World Junior Championships in the 3000m. Has been active as a leader of the junior generation. Won the 5000m at the 2020 Japan Championships and the 1500m at the 2021 Japan Championships. Competed in the women's 1500m at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, becoming the first Japanese to advance to the finals and finishing in 8th place. Competed in three events at the 2022 World Championships in Athletics: 800m, 1500m, and 5000m. In September of the same year, she made her debut in the 5th Avenue Mile, a mile road race held in New York, and placed 5th in the women's division. She will turn professional in April 2023 and join New Balance. She broke the Japanese record for the women's mile and the 5000m. As one of the leading figures in the Japanese athletics world, she will continue to challenge the world.

Akira Akasaki

Akira Akasaki

Born January 21, 1998. Originally from Kumamoto Prefecture. In junior high school, he was a member of the volleyball club. He entered Kaishin High School and began track and field in earnest. He went on to Takushoku University and participated in the Hakone Ekiden for four consecutive years. He was selected as captain and played an active role as a top student athlete. After graduating from university, he joined Kyudenko, a prestigious local Kyushu corporate team. In his fourth year as a working adult, he was selected for the first time to represent Japan in the Olympic marathon, and will continue to challenge himself in the run up to this summer's Paris Olympics.

Yumi Tanaka

Born December 15, 1998 in Osaka Prefecture. Specializing in the 100m hurdles, she started athletics in junior high school and won consecutive Inter-High School Championships in high school. She then went on to Ritsumeikan University, where she won the All-Japan Intercollegiate Championships and became the No. 1 student athlete. She is currently a member of the Fujitsu Athletics Club, where many top athletes are active. A woman of both intelligence and beauty, she continues to challenge the world as one of the leading figures in the Japanese athletics world.
