TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO New Balance New Balance (hereinafter referred to as "TDS") has announced the new color of the 2WAY Ultimate Snow Boot "TDS Niobium Concept 3" (hereinafter referred to as N_C3), which will be released in the winter of 2023.
From the city to the snow resort, we are launching the ultimate pair for winter season outdoor activities.
The upper unit can be replaced/transformed, the TDS footwear concept "Niobium".
Its name is derived from the element "niobium" with atomic number 41 and element symbol "Nb(=NB)".
Niobium is a refractory metal, in which atoms are bonded together at extremely strong energies, and although it is usually silvery-white like other metals, it can be made to shine in seven beautiful colors by processing the surface.
Not only does it look pretty, but it is also resistant to many chemicals and can be easily molded at low temperatures.
The beauty and variability of niobium is expressed in the TDS concept "Niobium", and so far we have released N_C1 footwear in 2020 and N_C2 in 2021.
The latest concept model, the N_C3, features a sole unit inspired by the MT580, which became popular as an off-road trail running model in the 1990s.
It features a flat sole shape with a wide landing area, and the arch of the midsole is made of "ROLLBAR", a lightweight and solid material with outstanding stability, to prevent overpronation (the foot falls inward when landing, making it impossible to soften the impact on the entire foot).
In addition, it is equipped with a Vibram® outsole for enhanced durability and grip on wet roads.
The upper has a double structure: an outer shell made of eVent, a waterproof and breathable material, and an inner boot made of PRIMALOFT,® a lightweight batting with excellent heat retention and water repellency, and the inner boot can be removed from the outer shell and used as a room shoe.
