990シリーズは何足も持ってましたが、気がつけば996は持ってないなと思って、あえて定番色じゃないこの靴を選びました!

舟さん（嫁さん）用に日本販売されているスタンダードな996と同サイズで購入しましたが、スタンダードな996と比べてアッパーの高さが若干低いようで甲が少しキツイと申しておりました。
我慢するとかそういうレベルでキツイ訳ではありませんが、試し履きしたときは気にならなかったけど、しばらく履いて歩くと違いが気になったようです。
デザインは申し分なく、春夏へ向けて明るい色合いでたいへん気に入っておりました。

New Balance's signature 990 series was launched in 1982 as an on-road running shoe.
Developed using the latest technology, it was released for $100, a very expensive price at the time.
It became a hot topic when its advertisements at the time boasted that it achieved "990 points out of a maximum of 1000," and it has since continued to evolve over 14 generations, with the 995, 996, 997, 998, 999, 990, 991, 992, 993, 990v3, 990v4, 990v5, and 990v6.
Since its original release, this series has always been manufactured in factories in the United States and is a legendary part of the brand, embodying New Balance craftsmanship and functionality.
