Levi's® and New Balance have continued their partnership, announcing the Levi's® x New Balance MT580, a new collaborative footwear line inspired by mountain biking pioneers.
In the early 1970s, a generation of young men and women began plying the fire-protected roads in the mountains of Marin County, California on newspaper delivery bicycles they called "crankers."
This is where the mountain bike was born.
To navigate the steep slopes and harsh, rugged conditions of this new terrain, pioneers adopted Levi's® denim as their uniform for its durability, protection and timeless style.
Paying homage to mountain bike culture and Marin County, the latest collection features the classic New Balance MT580 silhouette and durable Levi's® fabrics.
First released in 1996 as an off-road running model, the MT580 features a RollBar-equipped trail design and brings back the iconic chunky silhouette.
The silhouette with a slimmed-down toe and lower collar gives it a modern, updated look, but it's paired with a construction that's carefully recreated using materials, sole units and details that are faithful to the original.
The MT580's C-CAP midsole is lightweight and provides excellent cushioning.
For added support, it comes with a RollBar stability system that controls rearfoot movement.
Additionally, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Levi's® 501® jeans, the original template from which all jeans are derived, Levi's® signature Shrink-To-Fit™ denim is incorporated into the upper material of each shoe.
Inspired by the traditional aesthetics and style of mountain biking of the time, the collaboration is offered in two different color variations.
Finished with a nubuck upper, the grey/blue version features overdyed Levi's® denim on the toe and side panels.
The beige/black version also features a hairy suede upper with washed black Levi's® denim on the toe and side panels.
Presented in special packaging that tells the story of the birth of mountain biking, each piece of footwear features the classic Levi's® red tab and three optional lace options.

最近は990v6などメイドに履き慣れていたので、フィッティング前には少し不安でした。
発売開始からしばらく経っていたので、マイサイ25はなく、ハーフアップの25.5を購入。
思ったほど、つま先にあまり感はないし、
かかとも浮かないのでいいフィッティングです。
このアッパーならば気になりません。
メイドの履き心地よりは若干ホールド感が弱いので少し低めな採点です。
ちなみにゴアテックスモデルのMT580RBLは硬い素材で重みもあるためハーフあげると違和感がありました。
